Xemnas looked up from his desk, where he had been working while Toushiro rested. He quickly finished the sentence he had been writing and stood up to answer the door. He reached the door and pulled it open to reveal Saïx standing outside the room.
"Saïx," he said. "Good of you to come by." He stepped to the side so Saïx could enter the room.
Toushiro poked open one eye from where he lay on the bed.
No he hadn't really been resting, but to placate Xemnas, he had at least been trying, it was an improvement right?
The minute his eyes landed on Saix, he flushed lightly and immediately turned his head to the side to hide the blush with an irate 'harumph!'.
It wasn't that he was really angry. He was just being difficult for the sake of being difficult.
Bowing his head graciously to Xemnas he stepped calmly into the room turning so that he could face both Toushiro and Xemnas without having to crane his neck.
At Toushiro's obviously indignation with him, Saix had to let a small, and almost invisible smile curl his lips.
"I see I am not forgotten." He commented quietly with a touch of an amused lilt to his voice as he turned his attention back on Xemnas.
"Superior, it has been too long since we've last met, I had meant to inform you of the mission's success... however I was... waylaid." He finished awkwardly, not quite sure he was ready to bring up his brief encounter with Greed.
Slipping his eyes shut with irritating, Toushiro gave a surly growl at that.
"Hard to forget a man who tries to kill you then makes it better by kissing your wounds in a span of less then 30 minutes." He mumbled feeling sulky already at having been forced to rest by Xemnas.
So really he was just being difficult for the sake of being difficult.
"And you need to discipline your subordinates better." He called to Xemnas obviously a little grouchy.
Xemnas glanced back at Toushiro. "Seems to work well, doesn't it?" he chuckled. The "fight-kiss-keep" situation seemed to be good at getting Toushiro to fall in love, with both Saïx and himself. "And I doubt that discipline will really help."
He knew Toushiro was being difficult and wondered if the shinigami's actions were a sort of payback for his insisting the other get rest. He mentally shrugged it off and turned back to Saïx.
"'Waylaid?'" he repeated. He let his gaze fall on Saïx, searching his features for some sort of explantion without outright asking for one.
Saix smiled at that.
"With little doubt, it brought about much better results then my attempts at explaining the situation."
In hoping to delay his answer if only a bit, Saix wandered over to Toushiro and pressed a soft, almost butterfly like kiss to Toushiro's cheek while giving a soft murmur that he inteded for both to hear;
"Discipline never works snowflake." He teased and straightened facing Xemnas as the smile practically melted off his face.
"Yes, I had a distractive argument with my roommate." He answered shortly, hoping that Xemnas remember his roommate was Greed, and that they had (and possibly still did) held a romantic inclination towards each other.
[ooc; between it being late and my head hurting from the close encounters of the wood kind, I'm sure this post will not make sense, but what the hell? -shrug-]
Xemnas noted the way that Saïx was evading his quasi-question and let his eyes narrow slightly in suspicion. He looked Saïx in the eye and took a few steps forward.
Yes, he remembered who Saïx's roommate was and a few details about the relationship that Saïx had with him. "Dare I ask how that went?" he asked. He wasn't sure he wanted to know, but another part of him was curious.
The blush was clearly visible as Toushiro jerked upright at the kiss opening and shutting his mouth, almost like a fish.
Finally he settled for a half strangled yell of frustration and buried himself back under the sheets.
Damned men he couldn't stay angry at!!!
"I don't appreciate you two talking secretively around me! And what the heck did you mean by 'snowflake'???" He demanded from beneath his covers.
Saix let the man see a slight touch of guilt, hoping Xemnas would realize that if that much could affect his expression, it was raging inside him.
"As well as can be expected, and it is simply matters you are too young for dear one." He explained turning to face Toushiro a light smile on his lips as he purposefully baited the soul reaper.
"Snowflake, I find it befitting for a nickname, do you not agree Superior?" He asked glancing at Xemnas with a pleading look to go along with the switch of topics.
Xemnas' eyes narrowed again as he looked at Saïx. He had expected a more thorough answer, but then again, Saïx was entitled to keep things to himself. He at least wanted to know if the other Nobody had mentioned anything about them to Greed.
Heaving a sigh, he turned back to his desk and went to sit down. "Indeed, it fits well," he said, going along with the topic for the time being.
Toushiro let out a surly growl as he flipped off the covers once more glaring ineffectively at Xemnas as his eyebrow twitched mildly in irritation.
He turned that glare on Saix and said in a quiet growl;
"I hope you realize I hate being given nicknames, and despise being treated like a child even more." He warned the Nobody with a fierce glare.
Saix gave him a vague smile.
"I would never have guessed." He remarked with a small tone of innocence before he turned away and glanced at Xemnas's back and his expression blanked slightly.
"... I had thought to stop by and see how Toushiro was doing." He declared suddenly. "When I had heard he'd caught a cold I was concerned, but I forgot how Xemnas can be in matters such as this." He let out a little laugh.
"I suppose a visit was unncessecary in the end."
Xemnas shook his head. "It was good of you to stop by," he said. "It was rather difficult getting him to agree to bed rest and I'm sure he'd enjoy company that isn't myself for a while."
He stood. "I think some tea would be good right now. Would you care for some?" he asked, directing the question to both Toushiro and Saïx. He wanted Saïx to stick around for a while. There was much that needed to be discussed.
Saix glanced at Xemnas questioningly.
Did he want Saix to follow him or to stay here with Toushiro?
Gods he must have been tired.
"It could only improve your condition Toushiro." He remarked as he stared at Xemnas, trying to gauge exactly what it was his superior desired.
"An herbal tea would be best suited for that," Xemnas said. Deciding to give Toushiro little choice in the matter, he glanced over to Saïx, golden-orange eyes silently instructing him to follow. "The sooner you are healthy again, the better, Toushiro," he told his lover as he headed for the door.
He had matters to confront Saïx with, things he didn't quite think Toushiro needed to know.
Saix sighed inwardly but instead patted Toushiro in what he hoped was a comforting matter.
"I'll come assist you, doubtless it would be difficult to carry three cups and then some." He replied as he moved to follow Xemnas.
"We'll be back shortly, perhaps with some fruit as well if you can manage it. Perhaps you can rest a little while we're gone." He added as he stepped behind Xemnas.
[ooc: I'll sit back and watch then. :3 This should be interesting...]
Toushiro sighed as he gave Saix and Xemnas a little pouty glance, pulling the covers back a little to do so.
"Better make it watermelon." He muttered lightly as he drew the covers up and let his eyes slip shut, weariness suddenly taking him.
"... hurry back." He mumbled lightly.
"It won't take long," Xemnas reassured him, heading out of the room. "Rest while we're gone, though."
As soon as Xemnas was in the hall, he headed around the immediate corner before turning around to face Saïx. "So, care to elaborate?" he asked.
[ooc; keep me up late. please keep me up late XD;;]
[ooc: Will do! :D]
Saix's face fell slightly at Xemnas's comment, if you weren't familiar with him you may have never noticed it at all as he clenched his right hand into a fist lightly before releasing it.
"It began simply with him being angry at my decision to have Sephiroth kill me." He began simply before he glanced to the side.
"... it degenerated from there." He said quietly.
[ooc; :D Yey! <3]
"Something I can relate to," Xemnas said, voice dropping a degree or two in coldness. He looked Saïx in the eye. "Does he know of the...happenings between us, yet?"
That was really what Xemnas wanted to know. If he had a heart, he supposed that it meant that he didn't want Greed being in the way. His last encounter with emotions had strengthened his memory of them once he returned to being a Nobody, so he could now recall them more clearly in his mind.
Saix's face fell a little more, now it was viewable to all at Xemnas's blunt reply.
He was beginning to think he was failing at almost everything.
"I apologize again, Superior." He said calmly, then hesitated.
What was this illogical fear-like sensation bubbling up within him? Whatever it was, it made him truly not want to tell Xemnas. But...
"He knows." ... i couldn't not tell him. He added as an afterthought in his mind as he slipped his hands behind his back and clasped them together to keep Xemnas from seeing they shook a little as he raised his head calmly and gave his superior the blankest look he could manage.
"It was a stupid move on your part," Xemnas said. His features softened briefly. "But if you had not, I probably never would have realized what you were to me. So, you're forgiven."
At Saïx's response to his question, he gave a slight nod. "I see. I doubt he took it well?"
Saix gave a small, half bitter smile at that.
"Yes, my actions were rushed, I realize that now, and I thank you for that." He replied calmly.
"... it went as well as I could hope." He replied quietly.
"You do realize, though," Xemnas said, "that there are still reprecussions of your actions?" Though he had forgiven Saïx for going to Sephiroth, a part of him realized that it was partially his fault, for taking away Saïx's purpose.
"Did he...say anything?" he asked. Of course, Greed had probably said something. He was curious, though, to know what.
(OOC: This is so hard because we're still RPing that scene! XD)
Saix tensed visibly as his grip tightened though his nod was calm and nonchalant.
"It's to be expected." He replied smoothly, never losing the void expression on his face.
His lips curved into a light and mocking smirk.
"He had a few things to say." He answered shortly.
